Bright Beginnings Event Brings Parents and Future Panthers Together
Future North Lamar Panthers and their parents gathered for a hands-on learning experience at Bright Beginnings, an engaging event designed to introduce families to the district’s Pre-K and Kindergarten programs.
Held at Aaron Parker and Higgins Elementary, the event provided an opportunity for parents to connect with school staff while their children participated in a fun, hands-on activity—making play dough! As little hands mixed, rolled, and shaped their creations, they developed essential fine motor skills, sensory awareness, and early math concepts—all while having fun.
Speech therapist Lendy Duncan was also on hand to share insights on speech milestones and how North Lamar ISD supports language development in young learners. Parents received valuable information on enrollment, school readiness, and how play-based learning sets the foundation for future success.
For families who missed the event, Pre-K and Kindergarten registration is still open. More details can be found at www.northlamar.net/StudentRegistration. NLISD will also host two more in-person enrollment opportunities, campus tours on March 17 from 1-3 at Parker and Higgins campus, as well as ‘Signing Day’ on April 1 from 4:30-5:30 PM.
North Lamar ISD is excited to welcome the next generation of Panthers!
