Charles Leroy “Charlie” Withers, 84, of Blossom, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025, at Paris Regional Health.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1st at Blossom Church of God with Rev. Benny Dollins officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 – 7 pm at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, Mr. Withers will be transported to Haskell County, Kansas, where the family will receive friends Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Weeks Family Funeral Home in Sublette, KS. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3rd at Haskell County Cemetery in Haskell County, KS.

Mr. Withers, the son of Albert Withers and Ethel Meador Withers, was born September 14, 1940, in Gray County, Kansas. He was raised in the Mennonite faith and was a farmer, land leveler, and business owner. He enjoyed race cars, draft horses, and Christmas lights. He was a rodeo and parade announcer and a leader in the American Agriculture Strike, speaking across the Central United States.

In 1992, Charlie built Crazy House in Reno, TX, and celebrated 32 years providing western wear needs for customers far and near. Crazy House had been named the single-unit retailer of the year nationally at the Dallas Market. At the store, he had an amazing drive-through Christmas light display and was known as the “Christmas Light Guy”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Paul Withers and Harry Withers, and three sisters-in-law, Esther Withers, Peggy Withers, and Vera Withers.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Davis Withers, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage, three children, Greg Withers (Pam), Patricia White (Mickey), and Justin Withers (Sara), grandchildren, Sloane Withers, Nathan Thomas, Jessica Blanton, Cody Withers, and Raychel McEntee, 11 great grandchildren, two brothers, Lawrence Withers and Raymond Withers, and one sister, Alberta Schmidt (Melvin) along with numerous nieces & nephews and many friends.

In Texas, the pallbearers will be Jake McEntee, Kyle Blanton, Nathan Thomas, Cody Withers, Jordan Koehn, Max Koehn, Kevin Withers, Steve Peters, and Roger Schmidt. In Kansas, the pallbearers will be Grant Webber, Eric Webber, Brecken Webber, Drake Webber, Ethan Webber, Clarysa Webber, Max Koehn, and Jordan Koehn.
