Kathy Lynn Bolton (née Malone) || Obituary
Kathy Lynn Bolton (née Malone), age 74, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, in Paris, Texas. Born on January 26, 1951, in Paris, Texas, Kathy lived a life marked by unwavering devotion to her family, tireless dedication to her work, and an enduring spirit that touched everyone she met.
A proud graduate of Delmar High School in 1971, Kathy was a lifelong learner who consistently exceeded expectations in every endeavor she pursued. Her professional journey began at First National Bank, where she worked for several years before discovering her passion for education as a substitute teacher at Chisum. Her influence on students was profound—many continued to reach out to her long after their school days had passed, a testament to the lasting impact she made in their lives.
Kathy’s career later expanded into healthcare business development, where her talents truly flourished. At Vistacare Hospice in Greenville, Texas, she played a pivotal role in helping the organization achieve a five-star rating and expand its service area. She continued her success as Business Development Director for Cantex Long Term Care, where she was honored with the prestigious Business Development Director of the Year award. Kathy’s compassion and integrity earned the trust of physicians, patients, and families alike. As a licensed health insurance agent, she guided clients through complex healthcare decisions with the same care and attention she gave her own family.
Kathy’s personal life was equally rich and fulfilling. She is survived by her beloved children: Brad Bolton (Merianne) of Paris, TX; Keri Davis (Ed) of Anna, TX; and Tracie Goff of Denison, TX. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Garrett Bolton (Anah) and their son Ezekiel; Christian Bolton and his girlfriend Marloes Tillema; Ashlyn Davis and her boyfriend Tommy Gums; Katelyn Davis; Austin Bolton and his fiancée Candice Humphrey; and Evan Bolton. Among them all, her great-granddaughter Maren Mae held a special place in her heart—she was truly the light of Kathy’s life.
Kathy is also survived by her sisters: Jackie Wilson of Paris; June Williams (Charles) of Biardstown; and Sandy Malone-Martin (Ron) of Plano. She is remembered fondly by Jacky Bolton (Ellen) of Seattle, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents Ruby Moore Malone and Jack Malone, as well as her brother Dennis Malone.
Family was at the center of Kathy’s world. Known lovingly as “Nan” to her grandchildren, she embodied selflessness and strength. She never hesitated to put others before herself and remained fiercely loyal to those she loved. Her wit was sharp, her spirit tenacious, and her heart boundless.
Kathy found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cooking for her family (especially her famous chocolate pies), tending to her roses and bird feeders for cardinals and hummingbirds, and traveling with those closest to her. She had what many would call a golden touch when it came to slot machines during casino visits—a favorite pastime that brought much laughter and delight. One of her most treasured memories was visiting Graceland with John on their 53rd wedding anniversary—a trip that symbolized their enduring bond.
Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Kathy loved the Lord deeply and often expressed gratitude for the blessings He bestowed upon her—especially the love of a devoted husband and friend, as well as the joy found in being surrounded by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
