Miriam Lee Simpson, 92, of Powderly, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Brentwood Terrace Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19th at the Pavilion of Red Hill Cemetery with Rev. Mel Murphy & Rev. Bergie Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends at the pavilion thirty minutes before the service.

Mrs. Simpson, the daughter of Bill Simpson & Idabell Sutton Simpson, was born October 20, 1932, in Arthur City, TX. She graduated from Chicota Schools. Upon graduation, she moved to Dallas, where she worked a number of years for Southwestern Bell Telephone. Miriam then began a career with Texas Instruments, where she retired. She was an avid bowler and a member of the Arthur City Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Narvin Simpson, a son, Jimmy Simpson, a daughter-in-law, Suzette Simpson, and a sister, Ruth Cass.

Survivors include three children, Ricky Simpson, Vicki Dees & husband Mack, and David Simpson & wife Kay, grandchildren, Stephanie Kiraly & husband Matt, Kayla Simpson, Brandon Kearney & Amanda, Josh Kearney & wife Heather, Jeremy Simpson & wife Robbie, Erik Kendall & wife Amanda, and Keri Kendall, numerous great grandchildren and two sisters, Wanda Edelhauser and Kay Powers along with a number of nieces & nephews.

Casket bearers will be: David Simpson, Jeremy Simpson, Brandon Kearney, Josh Kearney, Erik Kendall, and Matt Kiraly.
