North Lamar High School proudly celebrated the accomplishments of two Panther baseball players as they signed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level. Mason McMichael signed with TCS Post-Grad Aademy to study Mechatronics, while Corbin Blease committed to Carl Albert State College, where he will major in Finance. Both athletes will continue playing baseball at their respective schools.

Mason McMichael
Mason is the son of Tiffiny and Dan McMichael and the brother of Morgan Earnest. His proud grandparents are Buddy and Debra Spratt.  He will be attending TCS to pursue a career in mechatronics while continuing to play baseball.

“Being a call-up my freshman year definitely helped me grow as a player and developed me to be better,” Mason shared. “My dad has been the biggest influence in my life because he always pushed me to do better.”

Mason’s favorite memory at North Lamar was winning the area round of playoffs and making a deep run to the third round. His advice for younger athletes is simple but powerful: “Don’t let your mistakes keep you from achieving your goals.”

He also extended heartfelt thanks to his parents, Coach Steed, Coach Jordan, and his teammates who have supported and challenged him throughout his journey.

Coach Bric Steed said of Mason, “Mason is a quiet, soft-spoken young man, but he is the ultimate competitor. He shines brightest in the biggest moments. Last season, he went 2-0 on the mound in the playoffs, helping lead us to the regional round. Mason is the definition of clutch. He’s also grown into a remarkable young man, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have coached him.”

Corbin Blease
Corbin is the son of Eric and April Blease and brother to Casons and Seely Blease. His proud grandparents are Wain and Nadene Blease, Ricky and Lisa Rosewell, Judy Blease, Kay Seely, and Susie and Tom Akin. Corbin will attend Carl Albert State College to study Finance and play baseball.

Corbin reflected on the importance of his father in his journey: “My biggest influence in my baseball career has been my Dad. I’m grateful for all the late nights and long days we spent working together. I’m very thankful to have a dad who cares for me the way he does.”

One of Corbin’s favorite memories from North Lamar was attending the Frisco tournament. “I love going to compete against the best teams, but the fellowship with my teammates and time together in the hotel made it special.”

To younger athletes, Corbin offered this advice: “Always be grateful. At the end of the day, you’re playing a game. No matter how you’re performing, remember that you’re able to perform. And be thankful for parents who put time and effort into helping you live your dream.”

Corbin expressed deep gratitude: “First and foremost, I want to thank God for everything He has given me and for the ability to play at the next level. I also want to thank my parents for all their sacrifices, and all the coaches who have helped me not only become a better player but also a better man.”

Coach Steed praised Corbin’s contributions: “Corbin has had a tremendous career here at North Lamar. His MVP season last year was a driving force behind our run to the regional tournament. Corbin is an outstanding hitter, and we’re excited to watch him continue his journey at the next level. He’s a wonderful young man, and I feel truly blessed to have been his coach.”

Coach Steed added, “Both of these players have meant so much to me personally and to our program here at North Lamar. I am truly thankful for them.”

With McMichael and Blease’s signings, they become the 15th and 16th players to continue their baseball careers at the next level during Coach Steed’s seven years at North Lamar—an achievement that reflects the strength and legacy of the Panther baseball program.
