Perry O’Brian, Jr. || Obituary
Perry O’Brian, Jr., loving husband, father, and grandfather, 85, returned to his Heavenly Father on March 29, 2025. Perry was born in Denver, Colorado, on February 24, 1940, to Perry O’Brian, Sr. and Ethel Louise (Evans) O’Brian.
A memorial service for Perry O’Brian, Jr. is scheduled to take place at 2 pm on April 12, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church located in Clarksville, TX with Rev. Don Shovan officiating.
A life-long pillar of the community, Perry held many leadership positions throughout his life. During Perry’s early days, he delivered the Denver Post newspaper throughout Denver and Englewood, CO on his bicycle and later using a vehicle. Perry was a 1958 graduate of Englewood High School, Englewood, CO, and attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO. Perry, and his family lived in Elizabethtown, KY for 12 years making many lifelong friends. Perry and his family moved to Clarksville, TX in 1977 where he managed the Stoneville Furniture Company factory. Later, Perry became an entrepreneur and owner of Vine-Tique Wood Products, Inc. and The Courthouse Inn Bed & Breakfast. Perry was active in Boy Scouts in his youth and attained the rank of Life Scout. Later, Perry served as an Assistant Scout Master. Perry was active in the Clarksville Rotary Club where he was awarded the George Sunkle Award and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Perry was also active as a board member of the Clarksville Hospital, he was a board member for Red River National Bank, and helped to organize the Clarksville Ambulance Service. Perry was a member, ordained elder, and choir member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville, TX.
Perry loved to play golf and was fortunate to have played on some of the grandest courses in the world including Pebble Beach and St. Andrews, in Scotland.
Those left to cherish Perry’s memory are his wife, Cheryl O’Brian of Clarksville, TX; his two sons David O’Brian (Patty) of Houston, TX, and Dan O’Brian (Tammy) of Paris, TX; his grandchildren Shannon O’Brian of Washington, D.C., Caroline O’Brian of Houston, TX and Andrew O’Brian of Dallas, TX.
Those who have preceded Perry in death include his father, Perry O’Brian, Sr., his mother Louise O’Brian, and his brother, Donald O’Brian.
In lieu of flowers, the family desires that donations and memorials be made in Perry’s name to the First Presbyterian Church at PO BOX 732, Clarksville, TX 75426.
