Mary Elizabeth Hutson Newberry has received her eternal reward deceased March 29, 2025, at 12:59am.
Mary was born in Paris, Texas on March 27, 1940, to father Cecil Charlie Hutson and Mother Jewell Evelyn Morphew Hutson. She lived her early childhood in San Francisco, California. She attended Paris High School while living with her beloved grandparents Otis Edger Bur Whiten Morphew and Beulah Evelyn Morphew of Brookston, Texas.
The love of her life was Billy Dean Newberry, married September 29,1956 at Clayton Baptist Church in Hugo, Oklahoma. They met at the Owl Drugstore in Paris Texas where she was working. She also worked at Westinghouse for many years until 1972.
Mary and Bill had one daughter, Marsha Gail Newberry born August 6, 1957. She attended the United Pentecostal Church of Paris and was a devoted Sunday School teacher for many years under Rev. Jack DeHart. After moving to Irving, Texas in 1972 she supported her husband Bill as the bookkeeper for his Exxon gas stations and she was also a Vice President for John’s Litho in Irving. She attended Christ Temple of Irving and again was a Sunday School teacher and later
Heartland Church of Carrollton under Rev Jack DeHart and Rev Dan Dean. She later worked for Lakes Regional MHMR in Paris, Texas and was a caregiver for the handicap that she spoke of often with love. Mary is remembered for her love and kindness to many people. She has made and gifted wedding flowers to many young couples. She lovingly cared for her husband throughout his long sickness as a lung transplant patient. She cared for her daughter Marsha during her recovery of Cancer taking her to every radiation appointment in Richardson, Texas. She was a natural caregiver.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Charlie Hutson and Jewell Morphew Hutson; grandparents, Otis Edger Bur Whiten Morphew and Bula Evelyn Morphew: brother, Wayne Hutson; In-laws, William Augustus Newberry and Flora Smith Newberry; E.J. and Dorothy Newberry; Bill and Doris Newberry Springer; Marshall Joyce, William Travis and Bonnie Newberry; Robert and Patsy Newberry.
She is survived by her loving daughter Marsha Gail Newberry and husband Manuel Rodriguez of Whitney, Texas; grandchildren Jennifer Gail Overstreet and husband Stephen Overstreet and their children Matthew Overstreet, Lillian Abilgail Overstreet and Nicholas Overstreet of Splendora, Texas; Jeremy Steven Ritter and wife Jessica Ritter and daughter Jolene Ritter of Cedar Park, Texas. Brothers JC Hutson and wife Mary Hutson of Folsom, California, Jerry Hutson and wife Adrian Hutson of Gatt, California, Frank Hutson and Wife Sue Hutson of Hollister, California; sister Linda Hutson Coffey of Irving, Texas; sister-in-law Dolores Hutson of Granite Bay, California; and her beloved sister-in-law and friend Della Newberry Joyce of Paris, Texas.
Casket bearers will be: Bob Newberry, Brad Newberry, Barry Cope, Steve Moore, Cody Newberry, Donnie Springer, and Caleb Newberry.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3rd at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Dean & Rev. Jim Millsap officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery.
