The field trip offered students the chance to interact directly with horses, an exciting and educational experience. One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to learn about leading a horse.

Under the guidance of knowledgeable instructors, students learned the importance of communication and trust between a handler and a horse, skills that are vital for safely and effectively leading these majestic animals.

In addition to leading exercises, students also had the chance to groom the horses. This activity taught them about the care and maintenance of horses, including brushing techniques and the importance of keeping a horse’s coat clean and healthy. Grooming is not only essential for a horse’s well-being but also serves as a way to bond with the animal.

Tailored Rides Equine Assisted Therapy specializes in using horses as a means of therapy to improve emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being. The students learned about the profound impact that equine therapy can have on individuals with various needs, ranging from physical disabilities to emotional challenges. This knowledge provided them with a broader understanding of how animals can play a significant role in therapeutic settings.

The field trip to Tailored Rides Equine Assisted Therapy was more than just a day away from their normal Friday; it was an enriching experience that broadened students’ perspectives and offered them valuable life lessons in empathy, responsibility, and the power of animal-assisted therapy.
