Investigation into Shooting on FM 905 || March18, 2025

On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at approximately 3:06 am, Lamar County deputies were dispatched to a residence on FM 905 for a report of a motor vehicle burglary. The caller informed dispatch that they had interrupted a suspect attempting to break into their vehicles. While en route to this call, deputies received another report regarding a gunshot wound related to a separate motor vehicle burglary at another residence on FM 905. Upon arrival, the homeowner stated that he heard noises outside, went to investigate, and was confronted by a suspect breaking into his vehicle, which was parked in the driveway. The homeowner confronted the suspect, who shot him and fled the scene in a dark-colored car.
