Marilyn Kay Love || Obituary

March 7, 2025

Marilyn Kay Love of Grand Prairie, Texas left this life peacefully on February 10, 2025, at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Texas.

Marilyn was born in Alpine, Texas, on August 30, 1950, to Kenneth Wayne Bull and Cleavie Bailey Bull. She was the first of four children born into the family. She attended school in Bogata, Texas, graduating from Rivercrest High School in 1968. She worked for the State of Texas prior to a disabling motor vehicle accident in 1990.

She married Tom Love, of Paris, in Austin Texas on December 16, 1975, and the two enjoyed nearly 49 years of marriage. Tom preceded Marilyn in death in August of 2024.

Marilyn is survived by two sons, Kent Wayne Butler and Russell David Butler, both of Ft. Worth, a “Bonus-Daughter”, Brandy Love-Spain of Pace Florida; grandson, Benjamin “Ben” Williams of Pensacola Florida;  and granddaughter, Evelyn Spain of Pace Florida; Marilyn’s mother, Cleavie Coffin of Bogata, Texas;  a sister, Leanne Avance and husband Billy of Powderly; a brother, Terry Bull and wife Pam of Powderly, a “ Bonus Sister, Shirley Clark”, of Weatherford; Special Long-time friend, Judy Kaitala, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tom” Perry Love, her father, Kenneth Wayne Bull, a brother, David Wayne Bull, and Stepfather, Sam Coffin.

Marilyn had a gentle loving soul. She was the type of person who would see something, think of a friend or family member who might appreciate it, and purchase the item for them, not for a birthday or special occasion, just because she thought it might brighten their day.

Marilyn was a child of God who truly personified the connotation of love.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

1st Corinthians Chapter 13, Verse 4-7.

A Memorial service will be held on March 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home, 730 Clarksville Street in Paris, Texas.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
