Nell Brison Pursifull, 97 of Paris, passed away, Sunday, March 2, 2025.

Funeral services have been set for Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Fry Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bill Coleman officiating.  Visitation is scheduled for 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service times.

Nell, better known as “Mawmaw”, was born the youngest of five children on November 7, 1927, in Gilmer, Texas to W.J. and Fannie Brison. She had 4 siblings, Jack Brison, Bill Brison, Ruth Nichols and Katherine “Kack” Castlebury.  She was a fabulous cook, especially known for her homemade chocolate chip cookies and pop-corn balls.  Nell was an avid football and sports fan.  She was the oldest living Gilmer Yamboree Queen, having been crowned in 1947.  She attended and was a member of the Gilmer Marching Band, playing an instrument that was twice as big as her, the trombone.  Nell was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Paris for over 70 years.

Sweet Nell is survived by her children, Tom Pursifull and wife Claudia, Tim Pursifull and wife Angie; grandchildren, Kyle Pursifull and wife Melissa, Lindsey Severson and husband Chad, Amanda Fore and husband Justin, Abby Pursifull; great-grandchildren, Grant Pursifull, Emmi Severson, Braxton Fore, Grayson Pursifull, Lila Severson and Berkley Fore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.C. “Sonny” Pursifull.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Kyle Pursifull, Grant Pursifull, Grayson Pursifull, Justin Fore, Braxton Fore, Chad Severson.
