Annual Mardi Gras Fundraiser || March 14, 2025, at the Love Civic Center Paris TX
Mardi Gras benefits the agency’s meal programs and programs geared to assist the homeless population, like Horizon House Transitional Shelter. “The programs and services we provide to the community are invaluable and are not duplicated by other organizations.” ~ Shelly Braziel, Executive Director, “Without them, Seniors would go hungry, and homeless individuals would not have a place to sleep tonight.”
Last year, HRC served more than 220,000 meals in Lamar, Red River, Hopkins, Delta, and Rains County, with approximately 60% of those meals being served in Lamar County. At Horizon House Transitional Shelter, more than 11,000 safe nights were provided to men, women, and families with children. In addition, the agency operates three senior centers, two of which are located in Lamar County, and provides more than 200 fans, 100 heaters, and nearly 1,000 blankets each year.
The Mardi Gras Fundraiser is more important than ever due to state-wide budget cuts. “One of our programs was cut in half, a $360,000 decrease for the year which would feed 200 people.” ~ Shelly Braziel, Executive Director.
Help us make up this shortfall by sponsoring, purchasing tickets or a table. As a business, there are numerous sponsorship levels available, ranging from $5000 to $250, and silent and live auction items are always welcome. Individual tickets and reserved tables of 8 are also available for purchase. Individual tickets are $75 each, with a table of 8 costing $600. For more information or to receive a packet, reach out to Shelly Braziel at hrctexas.ed@gmail.com. You may also call 903/784-2580.
“Mardi Gras is always a good time.” ~ Shelly Braziel, Executive Director.
