Chisum High School hosted TAEA Region 8 VASE Art Contest || Content Sponsored by: Power Jack Foundation Repair

Chisum High School hosted The TAEA Region 8 VASE Art contest on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Sixteen schools submitted three hundred and nineteen artworks to be juried for the chance to earn a regional gold medal. Chisum had twenty-nine students, and forty-six artworks compete, of which thirty-nine artworks received a regional gold medal. 

 Out of the three hundred and nineteen artworks only twenty-six were selected as state qualifiers to compete at the State VASE Art Event in San Marcos this April. Chisum had four students and five artworks qualify for the State VASE Event: Ansley Fisher, Maricruz Teran, Peyton Tucker-Booth, and Gracyn Whitaker. 

 In addition to the contest, the event featured Kilgore College Art Professor Coy Lothrop as a guest speaker.
