Alice Ann Blackshear || Obituary
Alice Ann Blackshear, born on March 1, 1934, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of tremendous faith in her Savior and unending love for her family. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Blackshear of Wichita Falls, Texas, of whom she was married for 74 years, daughters Carolyn Phillips and husband Rodney of Wichita Falls, Texas, Beverly White of Benbrook, Texas, grandchildren Crystal Short and husband Paul of Byers, Texas, Kevin Phillips and wife Jene of Burkburnett, Texas, and Derrick White and wife Katie of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by great grandchildren Graham Phillips, Rylee Phillips, Blake Phillips, Luke Short, Jereimah White, Jessica White, and great great grandson Denver Murdock, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Alice was preceded in death by her father, Roy Lucas Jones, mother Emma Loyd Jones and brother C. A. Jones and wife Mary Jane.
In addition to being a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great- Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, and Aunt, she was a beloved pastor’s wife, serving alongside her husband Wayne Blackshear as a ministry partner with the Church of God for over 70 years. At every church assignment over these years, Alice adopted close friendships that became like family.
Alice’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her love will never be forgotten. She will be missed terribly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was an amazing prayer warrior, faithful servant, and has run the race of this earthly life with grace and now is in the realm of her loving heavenly Father.
A visitation for Alice will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel, 2601 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas 75460. A funeral service will occur following visitation on March 1, 2025, at 12:00pm. A private burial service will occur at Tigertown Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Wichita Falls, Texas, on March 8, 2025, at Legacy Church of God at 10:00am, 1420 11 Loop, Wichita Falls, Texas, 76306.
