Robert Shelton Briscoe || Obituary

Robert Shelton Briscoe, 83, of Detroit, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at his home.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Keithan Brown officiating. Rodney Briscoe will serve as eulogist. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.

Mr. Briscoe, the son of Jack Briscoe & Mary Catherine Carroll Briscoe, was born February 23, 1941, in Cooper, TX.

He graduated from East Lamar High School and began a career in trucking. Later, he went to work at B & W, where he remained until retirement. Robert enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and dirt track racing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three wives, Annette Anderson Briscoe, Martha Thomas Briscoe, and Marizola Merritt Briscoe, a son-in-law, Johnny Meredith, and five siblings, Dorothy Lou Briscoe, James Briscoe, Jolene Stellpflug, Billy Jack Briscoe, and Scott Briscoe.

Survivors include children, Robbin Yvette Hamilton & husband Shawn, Robert Rodney Briscoe & wife Shauna, Connie Meredith, Lisa Merritt Follmar & husband Ricky, Jackie Wayne, Barbara, Marilyn, and Roy, numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews along with a host of friends.
