Brayden Reynolds Commits to Play Football at McMurry University
North Lamar High School senior Brayden Reynolds has officially committed to continue his academic and athletic journey at McMurry University in the fall of 2025. Surrounded by family, friends, and coaches, Brayden celebrated this significant milestone with pride and gratitude.
Brayden is the son of Cari Copeland and Gary Reynolds and the proud grandson of Liz and Jim Irwin. He is also supported by numerous family and friends who have also played important roles in his life.
Reflecting on his football journey at North Lamar, Brayden shared, “Throughout my journey at North Lamar, I have learned how to love winning more than I hate losing. This mindset has prepared me to face the challenges that will come at the next level and to overcome them with resilience.”
Brayden’s biggest influence has been his mother, Cari Copeland. “My mom has been the most significant influence in my life, teaching me to persevere no matter the circumstances. Football presents many challenges, but her lessons on perseverance have helped me navigate and overcome them.”
One of Brayden’s favorite memories on the field was during his junior year when North Lamar triumphed over Pittsburg in district play. This victory stands out as a testament to the hard work and dedication he and his teammates put into the game.
As he prepares to take his talents to McMurry University, Brayden is predicted to play as an interior offensive lineman. His versatility has been a key asset throughout his high school career, having played every position on the offensive line except for left tackle. “Being so versatile will surely help me be an asset at the next level,” he noted.
Brayden also offered advice to up-and-coming athletes at North Lamar: “Trust the process. No matter how hard or discouraging it may be, you have to continue and not give up when things get tough.”
Grateful for the support he’s received along the way, Brayden expressed his appreciation: “I’d like to thank all of the coaches who have guided me since I started playing football in the third grade, especially Coach Swaim and Coach Whitaker for having the faith in me to move up to the varsity level my sophomore year. I also want to thank both of my parents for their unwavering support and love throughout this journey, as well as for their valuable input in helping me make this important decision.”
North Lamar ISD celebrates Brayden Reynolds’ accomplishments and looks forward to seeing his continued success both on and off the field at McMurry University. Congratulations, Brayden!
