City of Paris receives applications for the May City Council election
The filing window for the May 3 Paris City Council election opened on Jan. 15, and the city clerk has processed three applications to date. The elections seek individuals to fill the districts four, five and seven seats on the council. Incumbents Mihir Pankaj and Rebecca Norment, representing Districts Four and Five, respectively, entered their applications for reelection shortly after the window opened. Later that morning, Tracy Attebury turned in an application to represent District Seven, a seat currently held by Rudy Kessel. Anyone interested in applying to represent one of these districts should visit www.ParisTexas.gov/council or contact the City Clerk’s office at 150 1st St. SE for more information and to receive application documents. Completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office or mailed to P.O. Box 9037, Paris, TX 75461, and be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025.
