Leslie Dale Main age 71, of Paris, TX passed away at Paris Regional Health on December 4, 2024. Leslie was born March 4, 1953, in McAlester, OK and was the oldest daughter of Dale and Laura Bookout Main. She graduated from Paris High School in 1971, Paris Jr. College in 1973, and The University of Texas in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. After college graduation, Leslie worked as a licensed Social Worker for Department of Human Resources/Services retiring in 2002. Additionally, she worked for Big Brothers and Big Sisters before deciding to return to school graduating as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in May of 2006, as well as a Registered Nurse in May of 2007. She worked as a licensed Registered Nurse at Paris Regional Medical Center. Leslie also supported and later served on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society.

Leslie was an avid gardener often sending pictures of her gardenia and rose bush blooms but was probably most well known for her cooking skills! Leslie had a love of babies and children. She was known to dote over them as well as the senior population that she so faithfully served during her time as both a social worker and nurse. She was a natural caregiver with the gift of a servant heart. She loved taking care of hospital patients, family and friends. Those who knew her also knew she loved cats, making them her four footed family members! Leslie was a member of the Calvary Methodist Church and baptized in May of 1987 by the Revered Glynn Vickers.

Leslie is survived by two sisters, Clyda Hilliard, Carol Main and husband Scott Puryear; as well as nephew, Dale Puryear; cousins, Michael Phillips and wife Sue; Dr. Lynn Phillips; Dr. Terrell Phillips and wife Tammy; in addition to cousin, Camille McConnell. Remaining to cherish Leslie’s memory are also dear friends Ann Cravens, Jan Goodwin, Rhonda Morris, and Beth Exum. Preceding Leslie in death are parents, Dale and Laura Main; nephew, Luke Puryear; cousin, Mark Baker; and Sally Phillips, wife of cousin, Dr. Lynn Phillips. Funeral services will be held at Evergreen Outdoor Memorial Chapel at 1:00 on Saturday, January 18, 2025, under the direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. Memorial donations in Leslie’s honor may be dedicated to The American Cancer Society.
