Kiwanis annual pancake days, the longest running and most delicious community-wide event is sneaking up on you!

Scheduled for Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 at the Lamar County Fairgrounds exhibit building, pancake days is the see-and-be-seen event of the spring.

“Last year, we served more than 12,000 people and we’re expecting at least that many this year,” said Kiwanian and pancake chief Gary Pirtle. Since 1951, Kiwanis has held the event. “The only time we missed was for COVID in 2020 when we didn’t have it. Other than that, we’ve held it for 74 years,” Pirtle said. All you can eat pancakes and sausage, cooked before your eyes, are served from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00
p.m. both days.

Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets can be obtained from any Kiwanian or in the lobby at both locations of First Federal Community Bank in Paris (at Loop 286 and Collegiate Dr. or 630 Clarksville St.).
Area elementary students are fed Monday through Wednesday, March 3-4-5, and are bussed to the fairgrounds by their respective campuses.

Class sponsorships are needed at a cost of $150 to ensure all children eat free. To sponsor a class, email Kiwanis secretary Denise Kornegay: dkornegayki@gmail.com.
All funds raised stay in Lamar County for Kiwanis to help organizations that serve children and youth. Find out more about the service club via their website: k02588.site.kiwanis.org.
