Paris City Council hires Rose Beverly as City Manager
The City of Paris is pleased to announce the selection of Rose Beverly as the new City Manager following an extensive nationwide search. With a unanimous vote, the Paris City Council approved an employment contract for the new manager during a special meeting Monday evening. Beverly’s appointment comes after her successful engagement with a community stakeholder panel, department head panels, and final interviews with the City Council.
Beverly submitted her resignation to be effective Jan. 15 to the City Council of Berea, KY, where she is currently the City Administrator. She will begin employment in Paris on Jan. 21. Beverly expressed excitement about becoming a member of the Paris community. She values building relationships with local, regional and state groups and agencies to promote shared goals. She looks forward to working with internal and external stakeholders to continue making Paris a wonderful place to live, work, grow, and play.
Beverly comes to Paris with over nine years of government leadership experience. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona Global Campus. She is a past president of the Idaho Association of Counties and holds a real estate license. Beverly’s leadership accomplishments include collaborating with engineers to develop a capital investment project plan to prioritize and organize city street paving projects and their correlating underground and above-ground infrastructure improvements. She has also led sustainability projects and strategic planning efforts.
“The City Council is optimistic about this new chapter and looks forward to the positive impact Rose’s vision, experience, and commitment will bring to Paris,” Mayor Mihir Pankaj said. “Continuing her experience collaborating with organizations and government offices at the local, state, and national levels will help Paris make way for new alliances and expand existing ones.”
The nationwide search process, guided by Baker Tilly Public Sector Executive Recruitment, drew 55 applicants. The top three prospects met with citizens and stakeholders during a meet and greet on Nov. 19. Baker Tilly completed exhaustive due diligence, leadership assessment, and background verification of the three finalists. The City Council spent over six hours interviewing and discussing the finalists and voted to enter contract negotiations with Beverly during a special meeting on Nov. 20.
