CIGAR OF THE NIGHT – TWO PARTY SMOKE!

We are going to cover both November and December’s Cigar of the Night smokes in this write up. It was a crazy end of year getting ready for our 7th Year Anniversary smoke in November, our end of the year Christmas Smoke in December, and the Cigar of the Year article coming soon. We did not have a cigar rep at our Anniversary event, and we do not invite cigar reps to our Christmas smoke out of respect for their time as most of the club’s focus is on the fellowship. With that being said, our Club Humidor Master and co-owner of Rigby’s Cigars & Lounge, Gary Flynn, pulled out some big names for these two events.
For seven years, our club has met every month to try a new cigar and rate it. We start each night off with announcements, and none is better than thanking all our Veteran’s for their service. Between our members and cigar reps/owners, we have 28 veterans in our club! We also celebrated the 2nd Anniversary of Rigby’s being open with Leslie & Gary Flynn. We have smoked 2479 cigars since the club started.
For November we smoked the Padron Series 4000 Natural Parejo (Toro) in a 6 ½” x 54-gauge. They are a Nicaraguan Puro which means all the tobacco (Wrapper, Binder, and Filler) is from one country. I could list all the awards and ratings Padron has acquired over the years, but this would turn into a 3-day read. Padron is one of the biggest and well-known names in the cigar world and you can read on their website about their story and “The Hammer!” It comes in a Maduro or Natural and it came in with a Redneck Ratin’ of 84/100 with 60 people present.
To celebrate our end of year December event, Gary pulled out a new to the humidor cigar, the AVO Syncro Caribe Special Toro in a 6” x 60-gauge. They have a Dominican Wrapper, Ecuadorian Binder, and a mix of Dominican and Nicaraguan Fillers. On their website (they are owned by Davidoff Cigars), they describe the Caribe as “The Dominican tobaccos are blended with other vibrant Caribbean tobaccos to showcase a process we call “Natural Distribution” in which the proportions of the tobaccos on any given plant are perfectly matched in the blending process.” Back in 2019, the AVO Syncro S America Torpedo 7″x54-gauge was our Cigar of the Year. We had 56 people present for our Christmas Party and this AVO came in with a Redneck Ratin of 89/100.
Our sponsor for November was Eric Guillot with City Electric Motor Pumps & Supply in Paris. They are a local Veteran Owned company that does both Electric Motor & Pump sales, service, and repairs. Eric is also very involved with the local area, Chamber of Commerce, volunteers as a Hospice Chaplain as an Ordained Baptist Minister, and can usually be found at the new Pickle Ball Courts.
December’s sponsor was eExtraNews including eParisExtra.com, eGreenvilleExtra.com, eMtPleasantExtra.com, and eRoyceCityExtra.com
