Freddie Belle (Hawley) Hemphill || Obituary
Freddie Belle (Hawley) Hemphill was born in Croton, Texas on December 8,1937, and passed away on December 10, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in Longview Regional Hospital. Her parents were Clarence Norman Hawley and Myrtle Maloney (Sisco) Hawley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all nine siblings, one of which was her twin sister Frankie Nell, who only lived a short time: granddaughter, Teeka Hemphill
She grew up in nearby Dickens, Texas and attended Patton Springs High School where she was a standout basketball player and cheerleader. On February 6, 1956, she married the love of her life, Tommy Hemphill. They were together for 64 years until his death in August of 2020. Tommy enlisted in the Army, and they spent the next 20 years going wherever duty called, living in multiple countries and states. During that time, they started a family which at the time of her death consisted of 5 children, 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 3 great=great-grandchildren. Freddie was a member of the Blossom Church of Christ and loved her church family fervently. Freddie loved to travel and made many close and lifelong friends wherever she went. She has a large extended family of nieces and nephews whom she also loved and always looked forward to family reunions. Having a great sense of adventure. She, in recent years took an Alaskan cruise, rode a side by side up a mountain over 10,000 feet, and loved boating and fishing.
Survived by children, Tommy Hemphill Jr and wife Tammy; Terrie Gray, Dude Hemphill, Deuce Hemphill and wife Lindsey, and Tamara Sowell; grandchildren, Todd Hemphill and wife Rebecca, Trent Hemphill and wife Brianna, Tripp Hemphill, Haylee Goode and husband Lawrence, Trevor Hemphill and wife Ashley, Tori Hemphill, Curtis Gray and wife Celeste, Candis Brown and husband Kris, Dane Suits, Knox Suits, Aaron Selden and Adrienne, Blair Selden and wife Ashley, and Kenyon Richard, all of whom loved and adored her.
Services are scheduled for Thursday, December 12th, at 11:00 am at the Blossom Church of Christ with Brother Evan Butler officiating. Viewing will be the hour before service time.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, Todd, Trent, Tripp, Trevor, Aaron, and Blair.
