Vice President Joe H. Iglehart of Lamar National Bank announces his retirement after 40 years of service
Joe grew up in Paris where he attended and graduated from Paris High School, East Texas State University, earning a general business degree, and Texas Tech School of Community Bank Management. His banking career began at First City National Bank in 1981 filing checks for Rita Jane Haynes in the bookkeeping department and then in 1984 J. B. Bankhead hired Joe to come to work for Lamar National Bank to oversee loan operations, becoming a lender in 2001.
Being a community banker, Joe knew the importance of serving the community. He has been active in bringing financial literacy to the school districts in the markets we serve. He’s volunteered in many ways such as coaching baseball and softball. He led Coaches Outreach Bible Study at Paris High School. He served with the Denver Pyle Children’s Charities Board and currently serves on the Lamar County Child Welfare Board. He is a past president of Kiwanis Club of Paris earning himself the George Hixom Fellow award. He served on the original board of Lamar County Crime Stoppers. He is a member of First Baptist Church.
Joe is married to wife, Peggy. Together they have two children, Jenna and husband Kyle of Celina, son Jason and wife Katie of Athens. They have three grandchildren: Presley and Paxton Sheridan and Landree Iglehart.
His plans after retirement are to travel and spend more time with grandkids and tackle household projects.

We are better because of Joe.”
A retirement celebration will be held December 19th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Paris branch located at 200 South Collegiate Drive. Customers, friends, and family are all invited to attend this come and go event as we honor Joe’s many years of loyal service.
