Paris Community Banker Elected to Independent Bankers Association of Texas Board of Directors
The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) is proud to announce that Greg Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lamar National Bank in Paris, now serves as chair-elect of the IBAT board of directors for 2024-25. Wilson was elected to this position during the association’s 50th annual convention held October 5-8 in San Antonio.
Wilson has been with Lamar National Bank nearly a decade and has been in his current position leading the bank for the past eight years. Prior to his time as a community banker, he was a floor trader at the Chicago Board of Trade in addition to working in venture capital, real estate and mortgage lending.
Dedicated to his community, Wilson is a fifth-generation Paris resident. His previous volunteer leadership positions include Chairman of the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Greater Paris Development Foundation, Paris Wildcat Athletic Booster Club, Chairman of United Way of Lamar County, President of the Rotary Club of Paris United and Paris Downtown Association, as well as serving as a board member of the Paris Education Foundation, Paris Visitors and Convention Council, Paris Skeet & Trap Club and Denver Pyle Children’s Charities.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wilson was a pole vaulter on the varsity track team. He is also a graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University, for which he was class salutatorian and graduated with distinction. Wilson and his wife, Jenny, have three children and are active members of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church.
In his role on the IBAT board, Wilson joins Chairman Tracy Harris of Texas Regional Bank in Harlingen, Secretary-Treasurer Gabriel Guerra of Kleberg Bank in Corpus Christi and Immediate Past Chairman Christopher Doyle of Texas First Bank in Texas City. Other new board directors include Jay Bearden of Legend Bank in Decatur, Dillon Cecil of Liberty National Bank in Paris, Lee Haggard of First National Bank of Trinity, Michelle Hodge of Industry Bancshares, Mark Long of First Commercial Bank in Seguin.
