Paris Police Department and the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force, and Lamar County Sheriff’s Office recover stolen vehicle

November 20, 2024, officers of the Paris Police Department and the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force, and Lamar County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen 2004 Toyota Four-Runner and arrested Mauricio Jose Alvarado Sequera (39) and Jhon Mario Mayetoner Alverado (22). The victim advised he had purchased the vehicle in Addison Texas, and it had been stolen the next day. Another person, known to the victim, had seen the vehicle again for sale on social media, recognized it, and alerted the victim. The vehicle was to be delivered to a new buyer in Paris with the meeting to take place in the 3500 block of NE Loop 286. Officers observed the suspected stolen vehicle in the area as well as another vehicle that the suspects were utilizing. Officers stopped both vehicles and confirmed the Toyota as the stolen vehicle from Addison. Both suspects were taken into custody. While in the back seat of a patrol unit, Alverado Sequera was found to have hidden the title of the stolen vehicle in the seat of the unit. He was charged with Tampering or Fabricating Evidence. Both suspects were charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
