PARIS, TEXAS – Start your holidays in Beautiful Downtown Paris on Saturday, November 23, 2024. The City of Paris Main Street Board and Parks Department invite everyone to the annual Christmas Tree lighting. In preparation for the event, the Light Up Paris Committee is decorating the downtown area with beautiful blue and white snowflakes adorning the trees and lamp posts. “The nonprofit Light Up Paris Committee has done great with the lighted tree project, “Main Street Project Coordinator Cheri Bedford said. “The contrasting colors of the snowflakes accent the beautiful trees.”

The tree-lighting festivities begin at 4 p.m., and City of Paris Mayor Mihir Pankaj will lead the countdown to light the tree at 6 p.m. Other activities include covered wagon rides from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., live reindeer from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and choirs and dance performances starting at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to start their holidays at this event.

Free hot cocoa and popcorn will be available, but donations benefitting the Paris Main Street Projects Fund are welcome. Many downtown shops and boutiques will be open all day, so come early to shop or dine at one of the fantastic restaurants.
