Equipment violation turns into Possession of a Controlled Substance || November 7, 2024

November 06, 2024, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 1500 block of N. Main Street for an equipment violation. As the vehicle was about to stop the officer observed the driver throw some item out the window. Upon approach, the vehicle and driver, identified as Colton Ray Mullens (26), smelled of marijuana. The vehicle was searched for further weapons or narcotics. More marijuana residue was located as well as several pills of narcotics, which Mullens denied were his. Mullens was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was booked without incident.
