Shirley June Haskell || Obituary
Shirley June Haskell, 75 of Deport, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, October 25, 2024.
Funeral services have been set for Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. David Hamm officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Deport. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Shirley was born in Deport, Texas on June 15, 1949 to Alfonso and Angie Jewel Smith. She married Larry Haskell on October 13, 1966. Together they attended the House of Prayer in Deport, Texas until it’s closing. Shirley loved her family and spending time with each one of them. She loved to cook for reunions and family get togethers. Often times you would find Shirley and her husband camping out and enjoying God’s beautiful creation.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Larry Edward Haskell Sr.; children, Larry Edward Haskell , Jr. and wife Bree, Calista Larue Filkins, Chester Dean Haskell and wife Tonya Marie; grandchildren, Desiree’ Arosmith and husband Aaron, Casey Allen Levi Haskell and Lauren Marie Francesca, Halie Marlene Gibson and husband Vincent, Eathen Allen Purdue, Heather Rena Bridges and husband Bradley, Felicia Dawn Hughes and husband Tommy, Earl Dean Filkins, Jr. and wife Kelsie, Corey Dean Haskell and wife Avery, Joshua Ryan Alfonso Haskell and wife Courtney Joyce, Jake Tyler Haskell and fiancé Monique Mora; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; siblings, Ruth Ann Coleman, Barbara Jewel Merchant, James Paul Smith, Larry Gene Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Angie Jewel Smith; grandson, Christopher Sheldon Haskell; great-grandson, Tiggan Dean Filkins; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Serving as Pallbearers are Adrian Smith, Matt Gibson, Richard Cherry, Tracy Cherry, Robert Goley and Mike Cherry. Honorary Pallbearers are Bubba Coleman, Aaron Arosmith and Brayden Sourjohn.
