“Feel The Love” Wood Air Conditioning installs free heating and cooling systems

2024 marks the second year that Wood Air Conditioning partnered with Lennox for their annual nationwide “Feel the Love” program in both Paris (1 unit) and Mt Pleasant (2 units). Wood Air Conditioning sent us the following write-up after donating their time installing three free heating and cooling (HVAC) units given away by Lennox.
“We had a great time during Feel the Love week! It was so incredible to witness the love that surrounds our three winning nominees, Mrs. Hudgens, Mrs. Powell, and Mr. and Mrs. Chavez. During this process, we got to meet some of their closest friends and family, hearing stories about how much they have helped their community, family, friends, and students. Each family blessed Wood Air Conditioning and will have long-lasting friendships with them all.”
Mrs. Hudgens has helped in the community for 10 years by providing clothing and other household items to families that are in need. She lost her son 9 years ago and her husband a year ago, but she keeps going strong in serving her community even on her hard days. She had many of her friends and her grandsons write something on her behalf outlining her love for helping others.

Mrs. Powell turned 76 this year and has been taking care of her grandkids since they were younger. As they have grown older, they recalled all she had done to help them when they had nowhere else to go. Living on a tight budget when her air went out this summer, she was not able to afford a new unit. We are so blessed that we were able to help Mrs. Powell meets one of their greatest needs! She had her granddaughter, daughter, grandson, and great grandkids there to celebrate with her and all are very appreciative that Wood Air Conditioning could do this for someone who has been there for so many people. Mrs. Powell could not say how thankful she was to be blessed like this. She couldn’t believe it was real until the day we showed up with the brand-new unit.

Mrs. Chavez has been working at Mt. Pleasant ISD for over 28 years while also taking care of her granddaughter. Wood Air Conditioning got to meet her daughter, brother, and niece who were all very sweet, and got to spend time talking with Mrs. Chavez and her family and saw firsthand the joy that they all shared over receiving a

new unit. This family has gone through a lot but never stopped going and moving forward.
“I want to say that Wood Air Conditioning was very touched by all these families. Our hearts were touched by every one of them and they have become friends. They kept saying thank you and how they were so touched by our kindness, but Wood Air Conditioning was the real beneficiary, being touched by all of them and we will never forget their stories and the love they showed us. We can’t wait for next year so be on the lookout for Feel the Love 2025!”
