Evangelina Fonseca || Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evangelina Fonseca, who left this world on October 11, 2024, in Roxton, Texas. Evelyn was born on August 2, 1948, in Santa Rosa, Texas, to her loving parents Gilberto and Simona Leal.

Evelyn married Erasmo Fonseca Sr. on January 27, 1968, and was a devoted mother to Erasmo Fonseca Jr. On November 11, 1998, her son married Amy Fonseca, and she happily became a doting Grandmother to Antonio and Enrique Fonseca. She spent many years taking school photos of children for LifeTouch. She was also employed by Sears and Roebuck and United American Insurance Company.

Evelyn had a deep love for all things plants. Her and Erasmo and their son, Junior settled and spent 51 years in their home on Duchess Dr. in Balch Springs, Texas. She spent her time working in her yard growing beautiful flowers, trees and plants. She enjoyed visiting with all her neighbors and friends. She loved thrift shopping, looking for a good deal, and feeding her family delicious food.

Evelyn will be put to rest by pallbearers Ryan Lipstraw, Noe Leal, Isaac Salgado, Lucas Rodriguez, Iram Rodriguez, Lucio Leal and honorary Enrique Fonseca.

In her memory, let us carry forward Evelyn’s love of beauty, and her love for life’s simple pleasures. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she inspired and held dear to her heart. May she rest in peace in the arms of Jesus.
