October 9, 2024

The 2nd Salsa on the Square, held September 21, brought 1800 people to downtown for an evening of entertainment including great music, great dancing, and delicious food and fun. In addition to Salsa dancing organizers incorporated a best “salsa” competition between local restaurants. Event coordinators invited local Paris restaurants to join in a friendly competition for Best Salsa. There were 7 local restaurant owners who joined in the firsttime event. They include Alex Tacos, Sr. Submarine and Taqueria, Chabelo’s, Garibaldi’s Mexican Restaurant, TaMolly’s Mexican Restaurant, Campbell’s Co, and La Bella Airosa. TaMolly’s Mexican Restaurant sponsored the chips for all the restaurants at the event. Contestants were asked to bring approximately 4 gallons of Salsa from their restaurant. The competion started at 6:30 p.m. and lasted to 8:45. During that time the general public was able to taste the salsas from the different restaurants and then
cast a vote on which one they liked the best using a QR code voters card located on each serving table.

The Main Street Advisory Board is pleased to announce the winner of the Inaugural best salsa competition as La Bella Airosa, located at 1335 19th ST SW. Out of the seven restaurants that participated La Bella Airosa received 34% of the popular votes and were awarded with a certificate and trophy from the Main Street Advisory Board.
