Kathy Nutt Johnson, 66 of Paris, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at McKinney Medical Center.

Funeral services have been set for Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Ramseur Baptist Church with Rev. John Brown, Rick Jordan, and Rev. Jason Dunbar officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.

Kathy was born in Paris, Texas on Jan. 17, 1958, to Fred Lewis Nutt, Sr. and Mildred Christine Nutt.  She taught school at T.G. Givens for 30 years.  She loved her students, and they loved her back.  Kathy never met a stranger, loved to talk, visiting with friends and going out to eat.  She had a contagious laughter and smile that would light up a room.  She loved to travel, especially to Branson and Pigeon Forge. Kathy was the backbone of the family and was known for her cooking abilities.  The grandkids loved her Oreo Peanut Buster Bars and Beef Pasta Hamburger Helper.  She attended and was a faithful member of Ramseur Baptist Church all of her life.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Douglas Johnson; children, Doug Johnson, Jr. and wife Stacie, Jason Johnson and wife Devin, John Carl Johnson and wife Leslie, Heath Lewis Nutt Johnson;  mother, Christine Stephens Nutt; grandchildren, Matthew Johnson and wife Megan, Alisa Landers and husband Hunter, Jake Johnson and Lacy Lyons, Tucker Johnson and Karlie Jo Shelton, Levi Johnson, Laney Grace Johnson, Charlie and Connor; great-grandchildren, Amelia Landers, Callahan Landers, Jace Johnson; sister, Debra Killian and husband Bill; brother, Fred Nutt, Jr. and wife Dana; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Nutt, Sr., grandchild, Bailey Johnson.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Tucker Johnson, Jake Johnson, Levi Johnson, Josh Nutt, Brett Bangs, Lee Woodard, Dale Horton and Randy Tuttle.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Hunter Landers, Matthew Johnson, Bill Killian, Mel Lock, Randall Mahon and Red Holmes.
