Alice Juanita “PeeWee” Deere Brantley || Obituary

Alice Juanita “PeeWee” Deere Brantley, 77, of Paris, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Stillhouse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 11th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Stone officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Brantley, the daughter of R. L. Deere & Ruth C. Deere was born July 11, 1946, in Snyder, TX.

For a period of time, she and her husband, Wayne Brantley, owned and operated Sands Cotton Gin where she worked in the office as a bookkeeper. They also owned and operated two restaurants. Alice worked most of her working years as a waitress. She had the gift of gab and was always telling jokes. She was a wonderful southern cook. In her spare time, she enjoyed word find books, watching old westerns, and spending time with her family whom she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Brantley, her father, R. L. Deere, her mother, Ruth C. Deere, and two stepmothers whom she thought of as “mom”, Janie Haney and Ruth N. Deere, her twin sister, Mary Oleta “Sissy” Evans and two brothers, Ricky Deere and Jamie Yocom.

Survivors include a daughter, Tina Brantley, two grandsons, John Austin Wilson (Megan Baker) and Colton Wilson, four siblings, Carla Deere Turner, Debra Browne, Alan Yocom and Mendi Nelson and a number of nieces & nephews along with her grand dogs, Bruno and Tora, who was known by Alice as Sasparella, and a grand cat, Phoebe Sox.

Tina and Carla would like to extend appreciation to Dr. Ganguly, Mallory Plemons, R.N., and all the nurses and staff at Platinum Hospice, Stillhouse Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, Paris Regional Health, and Elara Caring & their staff, with a special thanks to Dr. Pia Lippincott for all the special visits, support, and the sweet treats she would always bring, and Zoë Haley for her support.
