Kenneth Edward “Kenny” McCool, 63, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Paris Regional Health.

The family will receive friends at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Sunday, June 16th from 2 – 4 p.m.

Kenny, the son of John D. McCool & Virginia Mullens McCool, was born Oct. 8, 1960, in Lamar County. He attended Paris High School, and at the age of 18 began working for the City of Paris. His career with the city spanned 26 years before his retirement. Kenny then began working for Chisum ISD and retired in May 2023, following 18 years with the school district.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. & Virginia McCool, his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Newt & Ruby Cook, and a brother-in-law, David Cook. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Ann Cook McCool, whom he married on Aug. 14, 1981, a daughter, Ashley Phillips (Michael Schleh), two grandchildren, Anzleigh Phillips and Maelee Phillips, siblings, Sandra Ritchey (Neil), Jesse McCool (Diane), John David McCool (Karla), Jackie McCool, and Becky Leisey, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Johnny Cook (Karen), Freddy Cook (Jo Evon), Mae Francis, Al Cook (Vickie) and Gary Cook (Linda), along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
