Alice Virginia “Ginna” Stone Farris || Obituary
Alice Virginia “Ginna” Stone Farris was born August 27, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois to parents, Samuel Miller Stone and Alice Monimia Fairfax Stone. She passed away June 9th, 2024, in Frisco, Texas
She graduated From Paris High School and studied at both Holland College and SMU.
She met and married James Walter Farris,” Jim” in 1963 and the couple had two children; James Shelby “Sheb” Farris and David Grant Farris.
Ginna was an artist by trade but put her career on hold to raise and focus on her children. She was an active member of her community in the King’s Daughters, PEO, Daughters of the American Revolution, The Paris Education Foundation, and Central Presbyterian Church in Paris. Her sister, Shelby Miller and she were the last generation to live in the Maxey House. More recently, Ginna was actively involved with founding a chapter of the PEO in Frisco and enjoyed her activities in Stampin’ Up. She was recently very active in Bible study at Grace Avenue UMC in Frisco. She loved nature and animals, especially dogs. Her favorite place was South Padre Island.
Ginna is survived by her sons; David Grant Farris and his wife, Suzanne and Sheb Farris and his wife, Camille; grandchildren, Kiersten Ayers, Emma Daniel, Harrison Barnes, Kayleigh Barnes, Lillyan Farris, Shelby Farris, Libby Eischen and her husband, Conner, and Merrick Farris; sister, Shelby Miller and husband, John and brother-in-law, Ken Farris and his wife, Marcia.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 13 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Paris. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 15th at Grace Avenue UMC (3521 Main Street, Frisco Texas 75034) at 11:00 AM.
