Fannin County warns citizens of tax scam

The Honey Grove Police Department was recently contacted by the Fannin County Appraisal Office regarding a scam in the county.
The appraisal office stated there is a group of individuals going door to door in the county telling people their property taxes are delinquent and they must pay immediately or foreclosure will begin. No one within the appraisal office will contact you at your home and demand money.
If you or your neighbors experience this, contact your local law enforcement agency immediately. If you can provide a license plate number or a description of the individual, this will aid in their capture.
