Michelle Renee (Faucett) Draper 1971-2024 || Obituary

Michelle Renee (Faucett) Draper, 53, of Laguna Vista, Texas passed from this life surrounded by her family on May 19, 2024, at MD Anderson Houston, due to complications from Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Michelle was born in Fort Sill (Lawton), Oklahoma in 1971 to John Dee and Barbara Ann (Brothers) Faucett.  She began her nursing career as an RN in Paris, then when she moved to Mansfield she was at Mansfield Methodist. She worked at Origins Recovery Center on South Padre Island until undergoing chemotherapy for AML.

Michelle loved the ocean and all of God’s creatures. It was a fulfilled dream of hers to live by the ocean when she moved to South Padre Island.  Michelle made friends anywhere she went, and had a knack for making people laugh while finding humor in the everyday.

Michelle is survived by her husband and soulmate, Douglas “Doug” Scott Draper and fur baby Tink of Laguna Vista, Texas, her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Scott Ashmore and brother-in-law, Leslie Fern Taylor. Nephews and nieces; Nephew, Justin Taylor and wife Jennifer, Nephew, Cody Faucett and wife Lindsey, Niece, Jenifer Taylor and husband Daryl Duncan, Niece, Lauren Wilson, Nephew, Daren Faucett, Niece, Megan Smith, husband, Brent Smith, Nephew, Jay Owen and wife Danielle, and Nephew, Cody Draper. Great nieces and nephews: Grady Taylor, Brayden McCormack, Corbin Wilson, Bailee Taylor, Eleanor Faucett, Edie Faucett and Rhett Smith, many cousins, her closest, Lisa Grossnickle

She was preceded in death by parents John and Barbara Faucett, brother Barry Dale Faucett and sister Paula Sue (Faucett)Taylor. Her fur babies Blondie, Bridgett and Bo, and her father and mother-in-law, Stan and Carol Draper, Brother in law Richard Draper and sister-in-law Diana (Draper) Owen, and niece Christina Pearl Lindsey
