Charles Leon Elliott


Charles Leon Elliott, 94, of Paris, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm, Kentucky on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 3 p.m. with Fr. Darrell Venters as officiant. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church and Rosary will be at 2:45 p.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Paducah, Ky.  Flowers may be sent to Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. for service.

Mr. Elliott was born on Dec. 11, 1929, in Graves Co., Kentucky, the son of William Herman and Edna Margarite Elliott.

Leon was Plant Superintendent for 37 years for Merico (EarthgGrains). He was an active member of Our Lady Of Victory Catholic Church and raised cattle until he was 90 years old. Mr. Elliott served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in Alaska. He attained the rank of Corporal.  He was active in square dancing.

Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his first wife of 35 years., Elizabeth Patricia Elliott; daughter, Margaret Mary Elliott; his parents, and brothers, James William Elliott, Herman Joe Elliott, Paul Augustine Elliott, J.W. Elliott, Thomas Raphael Elliott, Francis Eugene Elliott and Robert Gerald Elliott.

He is survived by his spouse of 33 yrs., Naomi Marie Stennett Elliott; children, Laura Jean Kennedy, Lee Anne Pete (Audie), Barbara Jane Arechiga and Ronald Leon Elliott (Currie); step-children, Sherry McKim (James), Billy Gleghorn and Vicki Eisele; 19 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren and a Great-Great grandchild,  a sister-in-law Sara Frances Elliott and many nieces and nephews.
