Lamar County Head Start recently celebrated a heartwarming ceremony to honor the graduation of students from their four-year-old classes. The event was held with Paris ISD Superintendent Althea Dixon and LCHS Director Eva Williams, who presented the young graduates with their certificates. The joy and pride were palpable as these little ones took their first step toward a bright educational journey.

This year marked the beginning of a new tradition initiated by Mrs. Williams, where a valedictorian from each classroom was awarded a special plaque. This new practice added an extra layer of excitement and recognition for the students, encouraging them to strive for excellence even at such a tender age. The introduction of this accolade aims to instill a sense of accomplishment and motivation in young minds, setting a positive tone for their future educational endeavors.

In addition to the valedictorian recognition, two students were celebrated for perfect attendance throughout the year. Their dedication and consistency were rewarded with new backpacks filled with goodies to help them start the school year on the right foot. Additionally, they received prizes to enjoy during the summer, adding an element of fun and reward for their hard work. This thoughtful gesture acknowledges their commitment and encourages other students to aim for similar excellence in attendance and participation.
