Robert S. Norment || Obituary
Robert S. Norment was born in Paris, Texas, on March 23, 1929, the son of Edward D. and Margaret H. Norment. He attended Paris schools, was a graduate of the class of 1946, attended Phillips Exeter Academy, Exeter, New Hampshire, 1946-1947, also attended the University of Texas, 1947-1951 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Robert joined Norment and Broad Agency (now Norment and Landers) in 1951.
Robert was a member and ordained elder of Central Presbyterian Church, member and past president of Paris Rotary Club, Paul Harris Fellow, member and past president of Independent Insurance Agents of Paris, former member of City of Paris Traffic Commission, the Director and Secretary of Evergreen Cemetery Association for 50 years and the Director and Secretary of McCuistion Regional Medical Center Board of Governors.
Robert married Ann Fouts Norment, a retired schoolteacher at Paris High School. They had two sons, Sims, and his wife Becki, Russell, and his wife Vivian, four grandchildren, Pate, and his wife Colbie, Chet, Marshall, and wife Caroline and Stewart Norment, four great-grandchildren Porter, Elliot, Thomas and Raleigh Norment.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ned Norment and a sister Phoebe Norment.
Funeral services have been set for Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 11 a.m., at the open-air chapel at Evergreen Cemetery.
