Wendy Michelle Hutchings May || Obituary

Wendy Michelle Hutchings May, 45 of Deport passed away Friday, April 19, 2024.

Funeral services have been set for Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Blossom Church of God with Rev. Benny Dollins officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Deport. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Blossom Church of God.

Wendy was born in Marrero, Louisiana on Oct. 1, 1978, to David and Diana Pierce Hutchings. She graduated from Prairiland High School in 1997. She married her high school sweetheart, Dustin May on April 3, 1998. Together they attended and were active members of Blossom Church of God. Wendy loved her Saviour and served Him faithfully. Wendy was the life of the party.  She had a funny sense of humor and was always making people laugh and smile.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Dustin May; children, Staff Sergeant Bryce May and wife, Laney,  Keldon May and wife, Halley; 1 soon-to-be grandchild, Lyla Cate; parents, David and Diana Hutchings; sister, Jessica Denham and husband Shawn; her niece whom she adored, Amelia Denham; uncles, Larry Hutchings and wife Sara, Cecil Hutchings and wife Jennifer; mother-in-law, Meleta May; sister-law, Gina Swaim and husband Chris; brother-in-law, Cory May and wife Elizabeth; nephews, Heath Swaim and wife Lexie, Parker May, Canyon May and wife Molly, Lucas Cox; nieces, Lucy May, Macy May, Madison Cox, Taylor Goodson and husband Jasper and their children, Jaxon and Emerson; numerous cousins and other extended family members; special life long friends, Renea Cope, Fair Shae Guest, Traci Hawkins, and many friends that she had made down through the years.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Enloe and Vessie Hutchings, Earl and Geraldine Pierce; father-in-law, Larry May.

Pallbearers will be Erik Hutchings, Kyle Hutchings, Stephen Hutchings, Cory May, Brandon May, Gage Booth and Guner Booth.
