Judith Merle Booth


Judith Merle Booth, 85 of Blossom, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Funeral services have been set for Monday, April 15, 2024, at Blossom Church of God at 2 p.m. with Rev. Benny Dollins and Rev. Larry Bridges officiating.  Interment will follow at Knights of Honor Cemetery with Rev. Ray Evers and Rev. Samuel Evers officiating.  The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. at Blossom Church of God.

Judy was born in Deport, Texas on Dec. 15, 1938, to Smith and Tora Walker Davidson.  She married James Haskell Booth on Dec. 1, 1956.  They made their home in Blossom, having lived on the same street for over 60 years.  Judy traveled and sang Gospel Music with her husband for over 60 years.  Many of those years were spent singing with her sisters, The Davidson Sisters.  She had the voice of an angel and sang until she was no longer able.  She was also known for her cooking.  Many people enjoyed her fried pies, homemade canned pickles and other numerous dishes down through the years.  Judy was faithful to her Savior, loved to sing and tell others about Jesus and was always the perfect example of how a Christian should live.  She became a member of the Blossom Church of God in 1956 and attended there until her health wouldn’t allow it. Having come from a large family, where her parents had over 263 grandchildren, she enjoyed being with her family, going on vacations with family, and playing different types of card and domino games.

She is survived by her daughter, Meleta May; son, Marty Booth and wife Angie; grandchildren, Gina Swaim and husband Chris, Dustin May and wife Wendy, Cory May and wife Elizabeth, Gage Booth and wife Megan, Garon Booth and wife Sammie, Guner Booth and wife Sarah, Jessica Pomroy; great-grandchildren, Heath Swaim and wife Lexie, Taylor Goodson and husband Jasper, Bryce May and wife Laney, Keldon May and wife Halley, Parker May, Canyon May and wife Molly, Lucy May, Macy May, Lucas Cox, Madison Cox, Cameron Booth, Jayden Booth, Ainsley Booth, Keiley Booth, Lillith Booth, Trigger Booth, Riley Booth, Payton Booth, Bailey Booth, Brannan Booth, Emmie Jane Booth, Brooks Booth, Hayes Booth, Aleaha Latham, Hunter Latham, Preston Pomroy, Gatlin Pomroy; great-great-grandchildren, Jaxon Goodson, Emerson Goodson, and 1 soon-to-be; sister, Laura Miller and husband Ross; brothers, Charles Davidson and wife Linda, Jackie Davidson and wife Suezette; brother-in-law, Carlos Newman; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many special friends that she considered family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Haskell Booth; parents, Smith and Tora Davidson; great-grandson, Zachary Blayne Booth; sisters, Melba Bestul, Alva Seat, Linda Hines, LaJuan Newman; brothers, Harold Davidson, J.T. Davidson, Joe Lee Davidson; son-in-law, Larry May; many other family members whom she loved so dearly.

Ricky Bestul, Johnny Newman, Ronny Joe Seat, Daniel Hines, Tony Duncan, Chad Davidson, Dakota Davidson, and Steven Davidson will serve as Pallbearers.  Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons, great-grandsons, and remaining nephews.
