EVA LOUISE WATKINS OSBORNE (1930-2024)
Eva Louise Watkins Osborne, 93, of Paris, passed away peacefully early on Sunday morning, April 7, 2024, at Legend’s Healthcare, Paris, Texas.
She was born on June 29, 1930, to Sam Watkins and Essie Serena Osbourn Watkins near Deport, Lamar County, Texas.
Louise married Dewey Malcom Osborne in Texarkana, Arkansas on November 22, 1950, and raised their two children in Paris, Texas. She was a member of Ramseur Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Sammy Watkins, and her son Malcom Osborne.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Linda Kay Osborne Whitney and son-in-law Marc Whitney, daughter in law, Janie Beth Pickering Osborne; her grandchildren, Shannon Ray Osborne and wife Amie, Charles Bradly Osborne and wife Heather, Amanda Renee Neeley and husband Kevin, and Emily Jenner Whitney Painter and husband Joe.
“GG” is survived by her beloved great-grandchildren, Drew, Colin and Trenton Osborne; Christian, Trinity, and Ava Osborne; and Connor Neeley.
She will be missed by her family, which includes “blood kin” and everyone she met, and she never met a stranger. Her memory for names and events was unfailing. She knew or knew of, everyone from Deport. She enjoyed the articles in the Deport Times and The Paris News by Nanalee Nichols.
We thank the staff at Legend’s Healthcare for the care they showed Eva. We appreciate the acts of kindness and friendship during her stay there.
The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11 in the Pavilion at Highland Cemetery, Deport, Texas. Rev. Kevin Strempke officiating. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
