Ruth Elizabeth McClain || Obituary

Ruth Elizabeth McClain, 88, of Paris, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024, in Paris. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024, in Evergreen Cemetery under the open-air Chapel with Paul McClain officiating. Pallbearers will be Thomas Davis, Brian McClain, Josh McClain, Andy McClain, Matthew McClain, David McClain, Larry Denison and Dean Davis serving as pallbearers.

Ruth was born on April 5, 1935, the daughter of Arthur and Martha Haynie Grounds. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She married Herman Irdell McClain on Dec. 21, 1951, in Texarkana, Arkansas. He preceded her in death in May of 1993. She was also preceded in death by a son, Herman Arthur McClain in 1981, grandchildren, Jennifer McClain Lee and Robert Matthew Davis her parents and siblings, Frances Flanary, Marjorie Dozier, Sarah Denison, John Grounds and Betty Thompson.

Surviving are her children, Ruth Ann McClain Davis (Tom), Annette McClain Cogburn (Ben), Mike Ross McClain (Deborah Brown), Mark David McClain and Harold Edward McClain (Alice); 8 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sister, Camilla Smyers and many nieces and nephews.
