David R. Lane Jr. || Obituary
David R. Lane Jr., also known as “Little Lane,” age 50 of Amarillo, was unexpectedly called to Heaven on March 11, 2024, in Aspermont, Texas.
A Memorial service will be Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. in Brookston, Texas with Pastor Carlton Mitchell, Sr. officiating.
David was born on Jan. 1, 1974, in Paris to his parents, David R. Lane, Sr. and ZoLenar Morris Lane.
He graduated from Paris High School in 1992. On Jan. 18, 2003, he married Dolores Robledo in Paris. His job brought the family to Amarillo. They attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
He worked as a superintendent for DelHur Industries and traveled throughout Texas. David never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with virtually anybody.
He was a Dallas Cowboys fan, never giving up on “them boys!”
David loved his family and friends, he enjoyed watching westerns, grilling, and roping.
He was preceded in death by his father, David R. Lane, Sr., paternal grandparents, James and Bessie Preston Lane, and maternal grandparents, Edmond and Lolar Simmons Morris.
David is survived by his wife, Dolores, his mother Zo Lenar Lane, his daughters Rondeja Robins, Roneisha Taylor, Litzy Sophia Ortiz, Shania Lane, Lea Lane, and Marsha Lane; his sons, Jorge Ortiz and King Lane; his sisters, Katrina Mitchell (Carlton) and Angela Lane; his brother, David Lane (Michelle), and a host of relatives and friends.
Sug as most of us called him will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
