Raymond M. Rosebrough || Obituary
Raymond M. Rosebrough of Sumner passed from this life to a wonderful eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at the age of 87. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Cory Jones and Greg Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will follow at the Mt Tabor Cemetery in the Caviness community.
Ray was born on Jan. 4, 1937, in Roscoe, MO to Herman Monroe Rosebrough and Clara Matilda Kimzey. Ray married Twila Huston in 1962 and celebrated 61 years of marriage in August of 2023. Ray and Twila were blessed with two children, Deborah Dawn and Michael Lance. Ray was the second of four children with two brothers, Walter and Burt Rosebrough and a sister Nova Faye Bergschneider.
Ray graduated High School at age 16 in Kansas City. He attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, graduating in 1960 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Following college, he served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Air Force with sixteen months of duty as the Division Veterinarian in charge of all Veterinary Personnel in Korea. Following 35 years of veterinary practice he attended Oral Roberts University where he received a Master of Divinity degree, graduating with Honors. He served as a lead pastor in three small charismatic churches, in Rock Springs, TX, Ingleside, TX, and Corpus Christi, TX. Ray and Twila moved to Lamar County, TX in 2003. Ray ministered as a pastor in the Lamar County Jail for the last twenty years.
Ray is survived by his wife Twila, son Michael, sister Nova Faye and husband Bill Bergschneider; sister-in-law, Kaye Rosebrough; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Walter and Burt, and his daughter Deborah and her husband John, who passed in March 2023.
Named as pallbearers are Scott Cass, Karl Louis, Chris Dorman, Charles Olson, Jeff Bolton, and Keanan Guillory. Honorary pallbearers are nephews Walter Rosebrough Jr., Hank Rosebrough, Paul Rosebrough, Tim Rosebrough, Cliff Rosebrough, and Larry Bergschneider.
