Red River Valley Homeless Coalition to host annual event on Jan. 25, 2024
The Annual Point-In-Time Count, hosted by the Red River Valley Homeless Coalition will take place Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024. “This year, we’ll be overseeing a sheltered and an unsheltered count, which means we’ll be counting individuals residing in the local shelter as well as canvassing for those living on the street, in their car, or another place not meant for habitation,” said
Shelly Braziel, Executive Director.
“We will need lots of volunteers to assist with canvassing and will be hosting a volunteer training on January 18th at noon at Horizon House Transitional Shelter. The training will last about an hour, and everyone who plans to volunteer the day of the count must complete the training,” said Braziel.
The community can also help by donating blankets, gloves, and toiletries. Items can be dropped off at Horizon House Transitional Shelter; 450 4th Street SW in Paris. These donated items will be distributed to those in need on the day of the count.
