Danny Ray Dodd || Obituary

Danny Ray Dodd passed away at his home in Cuthand on Dec. 12, 2023.

He was born in Deport to parents, M.J. Dodd and Edna York Dodd on March 22, 1947. He graduated from Bogata High School in 1965 and then joined the Air Force. He received the Defense Service Medal before being honorably discharged in May 1967.

Danny was born to entertain and his greatest passion in life was music; writing songs, playing guitar and singing. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his daughter, Camille Hines and husband, Dale; granddaughter, Ashley Hines; great-granddaughter, Kashtyn Hines; Step-Daughter (that he raised as his own), Michelle Ellington Mayes and her husband, Billy, step-grandson, Brandon Mayes; sister, Anita Couch; brother, Jackie Dodd; niece, Tresa Couch; nephews, Tommy Couch, Trenton Couch and Michael Jay Dodd; close friend, Bubba Jack Rhodes; aunt, Dixie Stringfellow and many other cousins and family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jackie Couch; and ex-wife, Sharon Donihoo Dodd.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 31st, at noon at the Bogata Community Center.
