Bobby Gene Saffle

Bobby Gene Saffle, 84, of Paris, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, while surrounded by his adoring family who will miss him and his loving heart every day.  He was the most dedicated husband, father and grandfather, who always lived his life putting others first.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with a private burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Bob was born on Dec. 1, 1938, in China Spring to Oletha and Ruby Saffle.  Bob and his brother were both raised solely by their mother Ruby in Waco where he attended Waco High and met the love of his life, Judye Jones.

Together they raised their family in Paris and created Saffle Art & Antiques, a Paris business that was enjoyed by many people. He loved supporting not only Judye’s artistic career but all the local talented artists in Paris.  He enjoyed the hunt for antiques and architectural pieces.  Loved to collect cut glass, coins, and especially native american and Western items.  He said he always loved West Texas because he could see a storm coming in from miles away.  But his greatest love was his family. Going to every event he could to watch and support his children, watching and dancing to the Lion King with his grandchildren, and being the sole and loving caregiver for his wife, Judye.

Bob is preceded in death by his father Oletha (Jack) Lee Saffle, mother Ruby Carpenter Saffle, and wife of 54 years, Judye Jones Saffle.

Bob is survived by his three children; John Saffle and wife, Donna,; granddaughters, Hollye & Hannah and great-granddaughter, Ryot Rush of College Station; Zach Saffle and wife, Jenifer and grandson, Evan Saffle of Paris;  Stasia Guess and grandchildren, Gabbye & Grayson Guess of Fort Worth.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to the National Wildlife Foundation, www.nwf.org
