Edward David Ellis || Obituary
Edward David Ellis, of Paris, passed away on Nov. 28, 2023. There will be a Memorial Service officiated by Rocky Burrow, at 11 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2023, at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home, located at 730 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas 75460.
Ed was born on Sept. 12, 1947, to Austin and Doris Ellis of Hugo, Oklahoma. He enjoyed his younger years farming and working at his father’s alfalfa mill, Hugo Milling Company. He later became a first-class pilot and loved any opportunity to fly. This was also learned from his father.
Ed attended East Texas State University and received his Law Degree from the University of Tulsa. He was licensed in both Texas and Oklahoma. He practiced Law in Colorado for the Federal Government, before coming home to Paris to be the Assistant County Attorney under close friend, Tom Wells. He later became partners with Webb Biard, Wes Tidwell, and Larry Townes, at which time he had his private practice.
Ed is preceded in death by parents, Austin and Doris Ellis; sister-in-law, Kay Ellis, and great-niece, Lyndsay Bell.
Ed is survived by daughter, Ede Ann Williams and grandchildren, Travis Williams and fiancé Olivia Beth, Emily Williams and fiancé Aby Chavez, and great-grandchild, Jackson James Williams of Paris, Texas. Ed is survived by his son, David Reid Ellis and daughter-in-law, Karen Ellis and grandchildren, Brian Ellis and fiancé Andria Gentry, Justice Ellis, and Alexis Ellis of Parkville, Missouri. Ed is also survived by siblings, Peggy and her husband, Mack Ross, Trudy and husband, Joe Babb, Kenny Ellis, and Jimmy Ellis.
He will be remembered as a hard-working, kind person who was the rock for his family and friends for many years. He was loved and will be missed by everyone.

Peggy, Don,t know if you remember me or not but I ran the club at the Holiday Inn in PARIS years ago and you and Mack were two of my favorite people. I have often wondered in the crazy circle of life what happed to you. So sorry about your brother. Please use my Email address to get in touch.
